By participating in the Claude@Stanford Buildathon, you agree to the following:

  1. Eligibility & Conduct
Participants must be registered attendees of the event at StartX on April 11, 2026. All participants are expected to follow Stanford and venue policies, as well as a standard hackathon code of conduct: treat others with respect, avoid harassment or discrimination of any kind, and help us maintain a safe, inclusive environment.

  2. Teams & Projects
You may participate solo or in a team of up to 4 people. Projects must be started at the event (no pre-built products) and use AI meaningfully, with Claude or compatible tools at the core of the experience. You will choose one of three tracks—Better, Faster, or Smarter—and your project should clearly reflect that track’s theme.

  3. Intellectual Property
Teams retain ownership of everything they build. By submitting a project, you grant the organizers and partners a non‑exclusive right to showcase your project (e.g., in demos, decks, and posts) for promotional and educational purposes, with appropriate credit.

  4. Judging & Prizes
Projects will be judged on Technicals, Impact, and Ethics. Judges’ decisions are final. Prizes may change or be supplemented at the organizers’ discretion; if we add or adjust prize tiers, we will update the event page accordingly. Cash and credit prizes may be subject to additional verification or tax requirements.

  5. Use of AI & Data
You are responsible for the legality and safety of the data and models you use. Do not submit projects that rely on unauthorized data, violate privacy, or misrepresent what AI can do. If your project involves sensitive, personal, or high‑risk use cases, you must clearly explain safeguards and human oversight in your submission.

  6. Fair Play
No plagiarism, no recycled submissions from other events, and no use of private APIs, tools, or data that give an unfair advantage over other teams. Mentors and judges may advise, but they cannot materially build your project.

  7. Changes & Disqualification
The organizers may update these rules, adjust the schedule, or disqualify any team that violates the spirit or letter of the event. Any updates will be communicated via the event channels and reflected on the event and Devpost pages.
